How our roofing inspection process works
Once the FREE roofing estimate is scheduled and completed, a hard-copy estimate is given to the homeowner that will review suspected dry rot, layers, pitch (angle) of the roof, access to dumpster or trailer, and electrical. Our Current Remodeling Inc. roofing estimator will also provide an informational packet that will include product material information from roofing manufactures, such as Weatherbond, PABCO, or Malarkey. We will also include a complete reference listing, repair and frequently asked questions flyers, and additional information about Current Remodeling Inc. At this time the homeowner should mention any upgrades, such as skylights, solar or flipper vents, or a new ridge ventilation system.
Helping you find the perfect roofing material for your home
Current Remodeling Inc. will discuss shingle & material options with you. With the four seasons, the Pacific Northwest provides shingles must be able to handle the rain as well as the sun. There are several roofing options and styles to choose from and Current Remodeling Inc. will help find the perfect roofing material for your home.
Our roofing estimator will suggest that the homeowner walk the property and identify any patio furniture, planters, decorative porch features, and anything else that can be moved. Current Remodeling Inc. is not responsible for moving any fragile or decorative items, so we suggest for the homeowner to move and store items out of the construction area.
Current Remodeling Inc. will give the homeowner time to get at least three more bids from other companies. Additionally, other questions may come up in the days following the initial consultation that can be discussed. If satisfied, an estimated date for the roof replacement will be set.
What to expect when the roofing project begins
A day before the roofing project is scheduled a dumpster is delivered to the residential property. When the Current Remodeling Inc. crew arrives the next day one more walk around the perimeter is made to make sure all property has been protected by the homeowner. If anything is left out or uncovered, it will be assumed the homeowner feels comfortable leaving these items in the work zone. As a final step before work begins, the project manager will complete a fall protection sheet that ensures the safety of the crew while they are on the roof.

The tear-off will begin the day after the dumpster is delivered. As the crew removes the shingles, they are either thrown into the dumpster next to the house or on a tarp that has been placed on the ground. If a tarp is used, a crew member will scoop the debris up and take it to the dumpster or trailer, which will add time to the overall job. Any salvaging of material will be considered, but it is important to note that other problems may present themselves after the teardown begins. This could include dry rot affecting barge rafters, fascia boards, plywood, or even interior drywall. Current Remodeling Inc. will discuss these issues with you as they occur and review additional costs.
During the project, it is important to note there will be some disruption during work hours. Hammering, sawing, and other noises will be present during construction and that will need to be taken into consideration. Current Remodeling Inc. may also require power for handheld guns, and available power connections will be discussed with the homeowner.
Roofing material delivery
Material delivery is the next step. If no power lines are present, the shingles and other roofing materials can be placed on the roof. If power lines are present, local laws prevent rooftop delivery, so the materials will be placed nearby and walked to the job site, which will add more time to the job.

With the teardown complete, the rebuild can begin and the new shingles will be added along with pipe flashing, chimney flashing, vents, and any other add-on will also be installed.
Once completed, our Current Remodeling Inc. crew will walk the work site and look for any debris that was left during the roof replacement. We will also use a magnetic sweeper to look for any nails. However, it is important for the homeowner to also make a final inspection of the premises to make sure all refuse has been picked up and the grounds are safe.
